About Midget Mills
Our logs are harvested within sight of the mill and logged by local people from the Community Forest. Often we can show you where the trees were actually harvested. The area is currently working on a Forest Stewardship Council Certification and operates on the Community Forest model, based on sustainable, cooperative land management. We saw all our local species; Spruce, Balsam Fir, Pine, Douglas Fir, Red Cedar, Hemlock, Poplar and Birch. Small quantities of standard sizes are usually on hand. Wood scraps and sawdust are given free to the community for use as fire wood and animal bedding. We enjoy learning about your building plans and working closely with you to cut exactly what you need. We will cut lumber from our own inventory of locally harvested wood, or can also process your logs. Our mill can saw logs up to 48 inches in diameter and 26 feet long, but is only limited by imagination.
